Hood Seal Installation

Contributed by Manuel Campuzano

The hood seal can be installed with screws (NLA.511.001.00) only or glued down with contact cement (try Wurth SIC.999.130.50) or both.

At both rear corners, specially-shaped metal pieces (644.511.911.00) are used to aid the seal in conforming to the tight curve. They are painted semi-gloss black. No washers are used with the screws that hold the corner pieces.

[Editor] Detailed instructions on installing the hood seal can be found in Jim Kellogg's Restoration book on page 65. Note that while it's easier to install the seal with the hood off the car, it can be installed with the hood attached and in the raised position by employing a right-angle screwdriver.
